The final report of the Victorian Parliament's inqiry into end of life choices has just been release. It recommends assisted dying law reform.
After an heroic investigation into end of life choices, in which the Committee received a record number of submissions and witness testimonies, it has handed down its final report to the legislature.
The report, some 440 pages, covers a range of ground including advance care directives and palliative care.
The report makes an explicit recommendation to legislate for assisted dying law reform in restricted circumstances. This is a tremendous step forward in honouring the wishes of the vast majority of the Victorian public, who have wanted this reform for decades.
